Overview

Located in the heart of Yogyakarta at Jl. Langenarjan Kidul No.29, Langenarjan 29 (RSVP only) offers more than just a coffee break—it’s a cultural immersion. This intimate coffee shop, tucked near the historic Keraton palace, blends Javanese tradition with expert craftsmanship in every cup.

The space feels humble and inviting, reflecting the owner’s genuine passion. Booking ahead through their website is essential as the RSVP system ensures each guest receives undivided attention and ample time to savor their experience without rush. This thoughtful approach turns a simple visit into a dialogue about coffee’s nuanced flavors and origins.

The highlight menu offers an exquisite range from meticulously brewed pour over coffee to robust espresso. Customers consistently praise the Kopi Mekarwangi, a distinct single-origin coffee that captures the region’s terroir with clarity and depth. Pairing the coffee with traditional Javanese treats such as kue apem and apem beras elevates the tasting experience, harmonizing the gentle sweetness of the cake with the filtered coffee’s bright acidity.

For those who crave classic indulgence, the house-made tiramisu strikes a delicate balance—rich yet restrained in sweetness, perfectly complementing the coffee. Other delights like peanut butter jam toast and the split white cake provide variety while maintaining the artisanal ethos.

The atmosphere is calming yet lively, ideal for both newcomers and seasoned coffee enthusiasts. Engaging with the owner-barista offers rich insights into coffee’s complexities and an authentic connection to Yogyakarta’s local coffee culture. Visitors write of feeling welcomed and enriched, making it a destination not just for caffeine but for meaningful conversation and discovery.

Whether you seek a quiet moment alone or an in-depth coffee dialogue, Langenarjan 29 embodies the spirit of slow coffee with respect for tradition and innovation. It’s a rare gem where the craft of coffee meets Javanese heritage in a serene, carefully curated space.

It was such an amazing and very humble place to ultimately enjoy drinking coffee here. The owner himself brewed and served the coffee. He talks and shares many things to give us more than just drinking coffee. There are many types of coffee on the list. Guess what? The list is changed monthly, ensuring we will have new tatste every month. The taste of coffee i ordered was very, very good. The cakes are so delicious and unique. I strongly recommend you to visit this place and please be sure to book the time through webiste before you come. The owner is so humble !

Just incredible. Every coffee we tried had a very well-defined flavor profile. You can tell they take their craft seriously, without any pretentiousness. Possibly my favorite café in the world. Greetings from Chile.

I visited Tadasih a few months ago during my holiday in Jogja, drawn by a friend's recommendation of its unique slow bar concept and exceptional coffee. Firstly, it's important to note that reservations are required. You can easily secure a spot by visiting their website and selecting your desired date and time, as they do not accommodate walk-in customers due to their limited seating. The location is easily accessible, although it lacks prominent signage indicating Tadasih or that it is a coffee shop. The ambiance is humble, with a cozy space perfect for savoring your coffee and cake. For those who appreciate filtered coffee, this place is a must-visit. They exclusively serve filter coffee, and you can explore their selection of coffee beans on their website. I ordered the Kamwangi and Shantawene, and I must say, they were among the best coffees I’ve ever experienced. The Kamwangi, in particular, stood out with its delightful hint of oolong tea. Additionally, their Earl Grey cake was superb—definitely a highlight of my visit. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for coffee enthusiasts and anyone looking for a unique café experience.
